Farm Fresh Georgia Grown Turmeric

Permaculture-inspired means bio-diversity, multi-crops and no harmful chemicals! 2023 was our first growing season. Our turmeric is grown without harmful chemicals the way nature intended.

Would you be interested in developing a relationship with a local Georgia farmer? Do you have any interest in growing turmeric? Let’s connect and help each other thrive.

I want to make Georgia the Turmeric Capital of the USA. The opportunity is here. The market is ripe. Buy local. Stop the importing!

Storage Tips

Its been my experience that fresh dried turmeric likes to stay dry and cool.

I keep it on the counter or hanging in a cotton mesh bag in the kitchen or cabinet; I keep my house at 72 degrees.

The refridgerator seems to have too much humidity or moisture and mine has rotted in this environment. But if you have a humidity controlled drawer, then it should do fine.

You can break it into smaller pieces and freeze it and pull a piece out every day for a tea or smoothie. Grate it directly into your food or into ice trays with water and freeze for little frozen turmeric cubes to use as needed. You can always dehydrate it and grind into powder for a long shelf life and smaller particles that inflitrates your dishes.

In 2023, 17 acre property of which the right side is highly erodible sand and sloping down off the right side.

In 2025, after terracing and cover cropping the right side, installation of a quarter mile of swales down the middle with 500 fruit and nut trees, a memorial garden and turmeric fields. We are working to grow 10 acres of turmeric and add ginger as well.
